jl author photoJennifer Lundquist is the author of the upcoming The Book of Lost Chances, releasing from Wildthorn Books in March of 2027. Under the pen name Jenny Lundquist, she’s published multiple books for children and teens. She grew up in Huntington Beach, California, learning how to surf (badly) and wrote her first book—a picture book titled Jenny and the Giant Snowball—at the age of six, although she struggled with learning how to read when she was a child, until her mother took her to the public library and got her a library card, thereby beginning her lifelong love for books and reading. Jennifer holds a BA from Biola University in Intercultural Studies with an emphasis in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

Jennifer began writing in earnest when she was a stay-at-home mom and was desperate for a creative outlet. Her first middle grade novel, Seeing Cinderella, was written during naptimes and later while she waited in carline to pick up her children. (Don’t worry, the engine was turned off!) After publishing seven books, she went back to school to earn her MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University.

Jennifer lives in Northern California with her family and their rescue dog, Ollie. Her happy places are the lakes and pine trees in Northern California, the sea in Southern California, and a very specific table at her current favorite coffee shop. When she’s not reading and writing she can be found taking walks with friends or family; browsing bookstores; sipping a good glass of wine; and staring out her window, daydreaming while she plots her next novel.

Jennifer’s middle grade novel, The Library of Curiosities, was a Junior Library Gold Standard Selection. The Book of Lost Chances is her debut adult novel. Visit her online on Instagram or Substack.
