SEEING CINDERELLA by Jenny Lundquist OvOkalILvkAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC

Seventh grade is not going well for Calliope Meadow Anderson. Callie’s hair is frizzy, her best friend, Ellen, is acting weird, and to top things off, she has to get glasses. And her new specs aren’t even cute, trendy glassesβ€”more like hideously large and geeky.

But Callie soon discovers that her glasses have a special, magical perk: When she wears them, she can read people’s thoughts. For the first time ever she’s answering all the questions right in math class, and gets a glimpse of what goes through people’s minds all day, including what Ellenβ€”and her longtime crushβ€”really think of her.

Crazy glasses aside, Callie has more drama to face when she’s cast as the lead in the school playβ€”and instead opts to be an understudy, giving the role of Cinderella to Ellen. Can Callie’s magic glasses help her see her way to leading lady, or is she destined to stay in the background forever, even with her super freaky magic glasses?

Seeing Cinderella is available now for preorder!

  1. I’d really like a pair of those Cinderella glasses! Do they come with the book (wink!)? They would be EXTREMELY helpful! Great idea. Hope she gets the leading lady role.

  2. This sounds so cute! I had to get glasses in fourth grade–and hated them. If only they’d been magical…

  3. This sounds like a great book that my daughter will love as much as I will. Glasses that let you read a person’s thoughts – that sounds like more trouble than its worth. πŸ™‚

  4. Usually i dont go for middle grade books but this sounds so cute and interesting! I def want a pair of those glasses! πŸ˜€

  5. Ahh, the power of eyewear! As an optician turned librarian, I can attest to that power, although perhaps not in quite the way Calliope is experiencing! Love the name Calliope too!

  6. I wish my glasses came with mind reading powers! Definitely sounds like this will be an interesting read. πŸ™‚

  7. This sounds fun! And as a geeky, glasses wearing, frizzy haired librarian… just up my alley.

  8. Seeing Cinderella sounds like a wonderful read for tweens & young teens. Thank you for participating in this contest.

  10. That’s a really interesting concept for a book! And it’s not like super-powers where she can’t NOT hear thoughts, she can opt to take her glasses off when she wants (at the cost of the sight I’d assume)
This YAmazing Race is awesome, thank you~

  11. Such a great idea! Wearing glasses and hearing peoples thoughts. I wish I had those glasses.

Thanks for the giveaway :)! -Emilia
